Exploring New Frontiers: Aesir Logistics' Partnership with NASA
Fleetwood Bank customer, Aesir Logistics, LLC, has recently achieved a significant milestone by partnering with NASA. This endeavor underscored Aesir’s expertise in navigating complex logistical challenges and highlighted their pivotal role in supporting scientific endeavors. Though it was Aesir’s first time completing work for NASA, Steve Scecchitano, President of the company, has completed work with NASA before, having worked for one of the world’s largest chemical companies for over 15 years before starting Aesir Logistics.
Steve established Aesir Logistics in 2017 and initially focused on consulting within logistics, supply chain management, and regulatory compliance. Drawing from Steve’s extensive background in the industry, the company evolved to provide a comprehensive suite of logistics services, including domestic trucking, warehousing, and international air and ocean freight solutions. Today they have nearly 100 employees and have grown from a 3PL to having a fleet of over 40 commercial units for their trucking season. Licensed with DOT, TSA, and FMC, Aesir Logistics has established itself as a trusted partner in the Lehigh Valley and Reading regions.
In their recent collaboration with NASA, Aesir was tasked with transporting three ISO units containing rare noble gases for rocket use. The move included securing permits for overweight cargo across multiple state lines — a challenge expertly navigated by their seasoned team. The units, manufactured locally in Bethlehem, PA, were transported to Wallops Island Launch Pad, located in Virginia. The transportation took place in Aesirs’ trucks, which were financed by Fleetwood Bank.
Partnering with Fleetwood Bank since 2019 has been instrumental in Aesir Logistics’ growth. Fleetwood Bank has provided crucial support, enabling Aesir to expand its fleet and warehouse capabilities. For Steve Scecchitano, banking locally underscores his commitment to community values and fostering strong relationships within the business ecosystem. He is someone that “always prefers to do business with other local businesses when possible” and is a true believer in small community relationships.
As Aesir Logistics looks ahead, their goals include further expansion and innovation of their equipment and warehouse capacities. Aesir Logistics’ President, Steve Scecchitano, recently announced a new partnership he has in Guyana on his LinkedIn page. This new partnership will allow Aesir Logistics to assist in “supporting the oil and gas industry, along with the local Guyanese economy.”
