FINANCIAL AID AWARENESS MONTH
February is Financial Aid Awareness Month!
February isn’t just about hearts and chocolates—it’s also Financial Aid Awareness Month, a time to highlight the resources available to help students and families navigate the financial aid process. At Fleetwood Bank, we are committed to supporting our customers in their higher education pursuits and ensuring they have the information they need to secure financial assistance.
Is the FAFSA Form Available?
Yes! The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) remains open and accessible for students to complete at StudentAid.gov. The Federal Student Aid Office confirms:
“We continue to award and disburse federal student aid,” the U.S. Department of Education states on its website.
Students who rely on federal student loans, Pell Grants, and other aid should not expect disruptions, but staying informed is essential. If any updates arise, schools and financial aid offices will provide guidance.
Pennsylvania FAFSA Deadlines
To receive state-based financial aid, students must submit their FAFSA by the appropriate deadline:
- August 1, 2025 – First-time applicants enrolled in a community college, business school, trade or technical school, hospital school of nursing, designated Pennsylvania open-admission institution, or a nontransferable two-year program.
- May 1, 2025 – All other applicants.
Additional Aid: Each college or career school may have its own financial aid deadlines and requirements, so be sure to check with your institution for any additional forms or documentation.
Take Action Now
Don’t wait until the last minute—completing your FAFSA early maximizes your financial aid opportunities! For more information, visit StudentAid.gov or contact your school’s financial aid office.
