The Oley Valley Community Benefit Association is hosting their 32nd Annual Pot Pie Benefit Dinner at the Oley Valley Elementary School on Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be rescheduled to Sunday, March 30. The cost to attend is $15 for adults, $6 for children ages 4 – 10, and free for children 4 and under. All proceeds benefit those in need who live and /or work within the Oley Valley School District and the Junior Class of Oley Valley High School.  While you’re enjoying your Pot Pie, enjoy the sounds of the Oley Valley Alumni and Community Band. Join Reading Choral Society as they present two Bach Cantatas – sung in German at this concert. Featured soloists are: Soprano – Katelyn Grace Jackson; Countertenor – Augustine Mercante; Tenor – Colin Doyle and Bass – Christopher Jackson. The Boyertown Area Multi-Service is hosting its Spring Basket Bonanza on Friday, March 28 from 4 to 8 PM at The Center at Spring Street in Boyertown. The drawing will take place at 8 PM, and you do not need to be present to win. This event is open to the public! All are welcome to buy raffle tickets to try and win the baskets on display to help raise essential funds for the nonprofit’s programs. The St. Paul’s U.C.C. Guild is hosting a homestyle AYCE Pot Pie Supper at St. Paul’s U.C.C. Church in Fleetwood on Saturday, March 29 from 3:30 to 6:30 PM. Tickets are available at the door – $13 for adults and children are free. Dinner includes pot pie, corn, coleslaw, applesauce, rolls and butter, dessert and beverage. Handicapped accessibility. Parking is available on Arch and Vine Streets and the municipal parking lot.

The Optimist Club of Kutztown is hosting the Kutztown Fools Run on Saturday, March 29, 2025. The event starts at 9 AM. Registrants can sign up for the Bob Focht 10 Mile Run, the Sally Miksiewicz 5K Run, or the Optimist Club 2 Mile Walk. With the support of sponsors and the running community, the Optimist Club of Kutztown has been able to provide scholarship assistance to the most promising and deserving students in our service area to attend Kutztown University. Scholarships are provided through the Donald Peters Memorial Scholarship Fund under the administration of the Optimist Club of Kutztown Foundation. 2025 will represent the 19th year the Fools Run is under the auspices of the Kutztown Optimist Club with over $155,000 in scholarships distributed in the first 17 years within the Kutztown Area, Brandywine Heights, Fleetwood Area and Hamburg Area School District. The One Wish Foundation is hosting a Texas Holdem Poker Tournament Fundraiser on Saturday, March 29 at the Pike Township Sportsmen’s Club. Doors open at 4:30 PM and poker starts at 6:00 PM. A $40 buy-in gets you 4,000 chips in advance. You can also purchase at the door for $45 the day of (no re-buys). A $5 donation gets you an extra 2,000 chips. Beverages and food will be available for purchase, as well as a 50/50 raffle. Cash prizes will be available for top 8 at the final table and a first place trophy will be handed out. Enjoy a night at the races that benefits the Fleetwood Area Public Library and the Rotary Club of Fleetwood on Saturday, March 29 at the Fleetwood Fire Company Social Hall. Tickets are $25 and includes one horse with naming rights, stable and owner, snack foods, soda and water. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own snacks. The Friends of Brandywine was founded in December 2020 by several community members with a simple mission statement of helping students and families in true need in the Brandywine Heights Area School District and Topton, PA community. The nonprofit will be presenting Come Sail Away, a live stage show, on Thursday, April 3, Friday, April 4, and Saturday, April 5. Doors at the Lyons Fire Company Banquet Hall open at 7 PM, and the show starts at 8 PM. Individual show tickets are available for purchase at $40 per person. Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be available. All proceeds will go directly to the students and families in need in the Brandywine Heights Area School District.

On Saturday, April 5, 2025 the Schuylkill Valley Softball Booster Club is hosting the 10th Annual Spring Thaw Golf Tournament at Manor Golf Course in Sinking Spring, PA. All proceeds benefit Schuylkill Valley Softball Booster Club. Entry cost is $95 per golfer and $380 per foursome (scramble format). Registration and lunch takes place from 11:30 AM to 1 PM and a shotgun start will take place at 1:30 PM. The entry fee includes a round of golf with cart, complimentary range balls prior to the tournament, lunch, snacks, dinner, and beer / soda / water. Also included is closest to the pin and long drive contest holes, as well as free future greens fee for all golfers. On course contests will also be available for an additional fee.  The deadline to register is Saturday, March 1 or until all spots are filled. On Sunday, April 6, the Hamburg Area Arts Alliance is hosting its 4th Annual Bingo, Baskets & Bar-BQ event at St. Mary’s Church in Hamburg. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Arts Alliance in its mission of supporting local visual and performing artists. The event will also provide opportunities for the community to enrich themselves with the arts. Tickets include 20 bingo games ($25 in advance and $30 at the door). Doors open at Noon, and Bingo starts at 1:30 PM. Food and drink will be available for purchase, and cash prizes will be awarded. John Paul II Center is hosting their 15th Annual Legacy Gala on Saturday, April 26 at the DoubleTree.  Join them as they celebrate their students, adults and staff, and share their gratitude for those who made it possible for them to do so. The Rajah Shrine Concert Band is hosting its 47th Annual Pop’s Concert and Dinner Dance on Sunday, May 4 at 2 PM at their Banquet Hall. Bandmaster Bruce Rohrbach plans to have a guest appearance of soloist Kate Smith, who will provide an introduction that is rarely heard. Attendance for this good old fashioned band concert is open to the public, but all seats are reserved and limited. No ticket sales will take place at the door. Wheels for Victory is hosting their Annual Car Show at the Kempton Community Center on Saturday, May 10 from 10 AM to 3 PM. Registration will take place from 10 AM to 12 PM, and judging begins at Noon with local “celebrity” judges. Winners will receive $50 gift cards donated by local businesses. Awards will be presented at 2:30 PM and raffle winners will be announced at 2:45 PM. Car categories include Antique, Custom, Street Rod, Motorcycle, Tractor and Truck. The Pricetown Rifle & Pistol Club is hosting the 2025 Pennsylvania State Steel Challenge Championship, which is a sanctioned tier 2 USPSA / SCSA Championship Match. The Kempton Fair, presented by and for the benefit of the Kempton Community Center, is taking place Thursday, June 12 – Saturday, June 14, 2025. The fair features livestock and other exhibits, a midway with kid and adult rides, games and food. There’s live music, fireworks, truck and tractor pulls, vendors, crafters and artisans, a beer and wine garden and more. The Kempton Fair is one of the Kempton Community Center’s largest fundraisers for the year which helps with capitalization projects among the buildings and grounds. The Kempton Community Center is a non-profit, completely volunteer organization providing recreation and events for the Kempton community and surrounding area.

The 49th Annual Greater Governor Mifflin League Community Days is being held from Friday, June 27 to Saturday, July 5 at Governor Mifflin Intermediate School. This 9-day event is a legendary community fair that features food, games, rides and entertainment – including the spectacular fireworks finale. Best of all, admission is completely free! The Greater Governor Mifflin League is a nonprofit organization devoted to supporting the community. Since 1976, the GGML has given back to the community in the form of contributions to local fire companies, ambulance associations, scout troops, school projects, community projects, scholarships, and more. There’s something for the whole family at the Kutztown Fair! The 154th Annual Kutztown Fair is taking place from Monday, August 4 to Saturday, August 9 at the Kutztown Fairgrounds. The fair is taking place from 4 PM to 10 PM every day except for Saturday, August 9. The hours on Saturday, August 9 are 2 PM to 10 PM for Children’s Day. The 29th Annual Chile Pepper Festival is taking place on Friday, September 5 and Saturday, September 6 from 9 AM to 6 PM at the William Delong Memorial Park in Bowers, PA. This event is held both days rain or shine! Jalapeno eating contest will take place on Saturday, September 6 at 1 PM. In addition to trophies, first place receives $100, second place receives $75, and third place receives $50. Guests will also enjoy music by The Chile Pepper Ramblers. The Blandon Lions Club presents their Annual Gathering at the Grove on Sunday, September 14 at Maiers Grove Park. This free community event will include live music, free food and ice cream. Rejoicing Spirits of Eastern Berks County invites anyone to attend their services and fellowship times on the first Sunday of every month at 3:00 PM at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Parking is located behind the church with an accessible entrance from the parking lot. All are welcome to each 30 to 40 minute, no-shush ecumenical worship service that enriches the lives of all people, especially the differently-abled, their caregivers, families and friends.
