Certificates of Deposits & IRA’s
Certificates of Deposit (CD)
Certificates of Deposit help you target your savings for short or long-term growth while enjoying competitive guaranteed returns.
Choose from terms that range from 91 days to 60 months. Interest is paid at the frequency of your choice—monthly, quarterly or at maturity, depending upon the term. As the maturity date for your CD approaches, you will be notified, at which time you can decide to reinvest your savings into a new CD or allow your CD to automatically renew.
- Minimum deposits as low as $500 to open an account
- Deposits are federally insured up to the applicable share insurance limit
- Choose CDs for personal or business savings
- No Monthly Maintenance Fee
- Fixed interest rates
- Penalties for early withdrawal
Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA)
An IRA is a tax-deferred retirement account that permits individuals to set aside money each year, with earnings tax-deferred until withdrawals begin at age 59 1/2 or later. Fleetwood Bank offers a variety of IRA accounts which will help establish long-term wealth accumulation goals to enhance a financially secure retirement. Click here for our informational IRA brochures.
Traditional IRA Plan
If you are younger than 70 ½ and have earned income, you may be eligible to make tax-deductible contributions. The earnings on traditional IRA contributions are tax-deferred until you start distributions.
Roth IRA Plan
A Roth IRA provides for federal income tax-free withdrawals of earnings after a five-year holding period. Only nondeductible contributions of earned income are permitted.
Coverdell Educational IRA
An Educational IRA allows for nondeductible contributions ($2,000 maximum annually) that allows for tax-free withdrawals for a child’s education expenses. Contributions may be made for a child up to the age of eighteen. The account must be disbursed or transferred to a relative by the child’s 30th birthday.
Fleetwood Bank encourages all IRA customers to consult their tax or legal professional for specific information. IRA funds are insured by the FDIC separately up to $250,000 per financial institution.
