SMART SAVERS PROGRAM
Our Smart Savers Program is a great way to motivate students to earn good grades and to help develop financial skills at a young age. It’s designed to give students financial independence and help establish a sound financial foundation for future decision making.
Earn Cash for Good Grades
Students in grades K-12 can open a Smart Savers Account with as little as $5. (Students younger than age 18 must have a parent or guardian present to open an account).
Students must present their report card within 20 days of the end of every grading period.
For every "A" in math, science, social studies, and language arts, students will have $5 deposited into their account ($20 maximum per grading period).
INTEREST ACCRUES DAILY
Interest accrues daily and is earned and paid semi-annually on the balance in the account. All Smart Savers accounts must have a balance of at least $1.00 to earn interest.
NO MONTHLY CHARGES
There are no monthly service charges.
PARENT MUST BE PRESENT
Smart Savers accounts are held in the child's name, however a parent or guardian must be the authorized signer of the account. (This is not a UTMA account). The child must be present for all withdrawals.
EXCLUSIVE NEWSLETTER
All Smart Savers will be added to our exclusive email list to receive fun activities, kid-friendly tips on saving and how to be financially healthy, and invitations to Fleetwood Bank contests and events.
FREE T-SHIRT
Every Smart Saver will be offered a complimentary "I'm A Fleetwood Bank Smart Saver" t-shirt upon enrolling.

No – A parent / guardian must be present to open a savings account for anyone under age 18.
Yes – Whether the child is over or under age 13, the process to set up a Smart Savers Savings Account is the same.
Yes. While the Smart Savers Savings Account is valid for students in grades Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade, there is a UTMA account option for those below age 5. Contact your local branch to learn more.
As a non-signer on the savings account, they will not have access to this account. At age 18, it is advised for the student to visit a branch to learn more about their other options for savings accounts.
At 13 years of age (or older), the child can have view only access of their online banking with the approval of a parent / guardian. If the child is under age 13, only the parent / guardian will have view only access of the child’s online banking
Yes. The Smart Savers Program honors every “A” or equivalent in your four major subjects – Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts / English. Any student that is homeschooled would need to present their report card within 20 days of the end of every grading period, as per the programs guidelines. We realize that homeschoolers in PA are not required to receive report cards, and we hope that allowing “As” or the equivalent will assist in helping homeschooled students be part of this program.
The account is valid until age 26. No changes need to be made. If you wish to remove the secondary owner (parent / guardian) from this account, a branch visit is required. Account type changes can be made over the phone with a Financial Service Representative by contacting your local branch.
The minimum balance for a savings account is $1, the minimum balance for a student checking account is $5, and the minimum balance for a regular checking account (such as the FASD Custom Tiger Card) varies between $1 and $100. Contact your local branch for more details.
