The Michael H. Wise II Memorial 5K is taking place on Sunday, September 29 at 10 AM at Reading Area Community College. Registration opens at 9 AM, and the 1/2 Mile Kid’s Fun Run starts at 11 AM. This event is rain or shine, and the course is a FAST, wheel-measured course on closed streets and a shaded asphalt trail. Wise II, a City of Reading (PA) Police Officer who was killed in the line of duty in June 2004. All proceeds from this event are used to fund scholarships for children of police officers and firefighters; as well as local students looking to pursue careers in public service, specifically law enforcement or emergency medical services.
